Lest people start abusing the past tense and past participle forms of "rise" and "arise", on a day like Easter, let me quickly do justice to that.
"rise/rose/risen"
"arise/arose/arisen"
e.g. If Christ hadn't arisen/risen from the dead, what would have become of us all? (not "arose/rose").
