Consider this expression:
"One of the boys that come to our house has been arrested".
CAUTION: The tense in that expression is what I want to draw your attention to.
Many commit the blunder of not knowing the appropriate tense to use. It is common to see something as:
"One of the boys that comes to our house has been arrested."
Sorry, that is very incorrect to say.
I need you to know that the verb, there, must collocate with "boys", not "one".
Do you get?
Let's get it better this way:
The boy that comes to my house....
The boys that come to my house....
Do you now see the two?
